Fountain Women for Christ
Thanksgiving to Christmas 2020 Happenings
With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, COVID is really trying to ruin our efforts to gather together and celebrate; however, we will not be stopped. Yes, our in-person annual Praise & Thanks Dinner was cancelled, however, Jess Bowen has put together an awesome WEEK of praise and thanks activities so we can celebrate virtually. Many of our December activities are happening as planned, but with social distancing and COVID precautions in mind.
SPECIAL EVENT—PRAISE & THANKS WEEK – STARTS NOW!
Yes! You read it correctly. We are having an entire WEEK of praise and thanks for women from both campuses! Since we are unable to gather in person this year for our annual event, we will celebrate virtually. Each day this week, Jess will post on our Fellowship of the Rockies Women’s Facebook page. She will also send this same information out in a daily email. It will be reflective, interactive, encouraging, and fun! And, the week will end with a HUGE giveaway! Started November 16, so go check your email or Facebook page.
DECK THE FOUNTAIN CAMPUS – DATE CHANGE
Each year our Women’s Ministry decorates our Fountain Worship Center for Christmas. We have pushed back the original date for this. Now, we’ll be decorating the church on Saturday, November 28th from 10am to noon. We are looking for 6-8 women to help us transform our Worship Center before our first Christmas sermon on November 29. Childcare will NOT be available.
Sign up HERE or let Sandi know you’d like to help.

Please wear your favorite ugly sweater and/or Christmas socks! Bring a white elephant gift valued at $5 or less. Optional: Bring copies of your favorite Christmas cookie to share. Our program ends with singing some traditional Christmas hymns. Tickets are $10 per person and are limited, so get yours now. Childcare is available for $5 per child/$15 max per family. WHERE MOMS CONNECT
Although we usually meet twice a month, our Where Moms Connect group will only meet once in December: Wednesday, December 9 from 9-11am in the Worship Center. Our topic for this session is “Marriage Mileage: Keys to Keeping Marriage Alive While Raising Children.” Childcare is provided free, but we do need you to sign up before each session (by the Monday before) so we know exactly how many kids will be coming each week, so we have the proper number of childcare workers and rooms. Jena usually posts the link on our Group Me page. We will also have a supervised room for school-aged kids to work on their schoolwork. For more information contact Sandi.
FOR CRAFTERS & SCAPPERS
Join us on Friday, December 11 from 9-11am in the Worship Center for fun time of fellowship and crafting. Cost for Crafting is $5 and includes all materials (to be paid to Mindy the day of the craft).

❖ Kids Craft: Kids 4-10 years old are invited to come and will also be making Christmas ornaments. All materials will be provided.
❖ Victorian Tea Hat: Going to the Victorian Christmas Tea and don’t have a hat? Well, you can make one today during our Crafters session. You can bring your own hat to decorate or we can supply one for you along with decorating materials.

FOUNTAIN WOMEN’S PICTORIAL DIRECTORY
Don’t be left out! We are in the process of creating our Fountain Women’s Pictorial Directory and plan on having it available in both hardcopy and softcopy. This directory will be a great way for our women to get to know each other better and keep in contact. The Women’s Pictorial Directory form is HERE for you to print and fill out. You can return it to Nicole or print off and put in the Red Box on the table in the Welcome Center. If you didn’t have a chance to get your picture taken, you can just send Nicole a digital headshot (plain background) of yourself for us to use. If you have your own business and would like to advertise, contact Nicole for more information.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY NEEDS—WHERE CAN YOU SERVE?
As we continue to plan for the Fall, there are a variety of needs that we have in Fountain’s Women’s Ministry. We are all part of ONE body, and we can each play an important role. If you are interested in helping in any of the following areas, please contact Sandi or the point of contact listed below.
❖ Volunteer Childcare Workers. Childcare for our Bible Studies and Where Moms Connect are covered in the Church budget, but it is not covered for most of our other women’s activities. We are looking for a few women who would like to volunteer to do childcare for 2 1/2 hours once or twice a month so women with children can participate in various activities. All childcare volunteers must consent to a routine background check. Here’s some of the events we’re looking for helpers:
- Monthly FOR Crafters & Scrappers meetings (2nd Friday morning each month from 9-11am)
- Looking for 1 or 2 volunteers
❖ Military Mentor Spouses. Current or former military spouses that want to walk alongside our spouses as they navigate the military lifestyle. Must love Jesus. If interested, please contact Jodi for more details and to discuss what it looks like.
❖ Mentor Moms for Where Moms Connect. Are you an older mom (i.e., been there-done that) or empty-nester and have a heart for young moms? We are looking to start up a Mentor Mom program for our Where Moms Connect and would like some seasoned moms to come along side some of our younger moms to be a mentor and encourager. If you are interested, contact Sandi or Mary.
❖ Meal Train Volunteers. We are always in need of women who would be willing to bless others in our church with a meal to encourage and help them out. Typical reasons include new baby, hospital stay/surgery recovery, death in the family, etc. Contact our Meal Train Coordinator Kerriann to volunteer.
